How to use the team messaging/chat

As a coach, you can chat using the web app and mobile app.

As parents and athletes, you can use only the mobile app to chat.

Note: We created this app to be SafeSport compliant. This means any coach that starts a one-on-one conversation with an athlete, the parent, will be automatically copied on the thread. Parents can only see and create conversations with other parents and coaches. Athletes can see other athletes and coaches.

Coach on Web App:

From the web app click on the MESSAGING button on the left menu. To start a new chat click the + button. You can then search for someone specific in the top bar or filter by Team. Click on the box to the very right of the window for the person you want to start a conversation with and click CREATE A CONVERSATION.

You can also create groups by clicking on more boxes. When creating a group you can then name the group. (Note: You currently can not change the name of a group after you start the conversation.)

• Pro tip:
  • Create groups within the team, i.e. Defense group, Forwards, goalies, Line 1, etc.)
  • Create a group of just parents. (you don't need groupme any longer.)
