How to Add Athletes to a Program

How do I add new athletes to a Program?

There are three ways:
  1. Program Join Code — share the code for athletes/households to use on the mobile app to join.
  2. Sign-up link — share the link for athletes/households to fill out and join.
  3. Manually add — via the ADD ATHLETE and ADD MEMBERS form.

Share the Program join code and the athlete/household enters it to join via the mobile app, or share the sign-up link and they complete a sign-up form to be added to the Program. A household is required to be added for each athlete.  The athlete email can NOT be the same as the household email.

⚠️ Important: Don't create duplicate athlete records

If an athlete is already on SafeTeam and you add them with the sign-up link (rather than the rostering module), the email address they enter matters. Whoever fills out the form must use the same email address already on the athlete's existing record.

If they enter a different or new email, SafeTeam creates a second, separate record for that athlete. The result: when that athlete signs into the mobile app, they won't see all the teams they're rostered on, because their rosterings are now split across two records.

Bottom line: Only use the sign-up link for brand-new athletes that don't have a SafeTeam account already.
